UPDATE Car Jacking Suspect Arrested

UPDATE: Subsequent to this media release from December 18, 2024, David William CAMPBELL was located and arrested by the RCMP.


On November 27, 2024, Manitoba First Nations Police (MFNP) received a report of a vehicle being carjacked the evening prior in Opaskwayak Cree Nation. It was reported that the suspect used a firearm during the offence, which was discharged. 


Police were attending to the complaint and located the stolen vehicle in a snowbank on Kiche Maskanow. Police found evidence and damage consistent with a firearm being discharged inside the vehicle. Police learned that two adult suspects requested a ride to a local residence when one of the males produced a firearm and demanded the victim’s belongings and her vehicle. One of the male suspects allegedly discharged the firearm in the vehicle, the vehicle stopped, and the victim was able to flee from the vehicle. 

MFNP have identified the two suspects. 


On December 15, Jewel Jayden WILSON-MCNABB, 25-year-old of Moose Lake, was arrested by RCMP in The Pas and has been remanded into custody on the following charges:


• Robbery with a firearm

• Forcible confinement


Police have issued a warrant for arrest for David William CAMPBELL, 20-year-old, from Moose Lake. CAMPBELL is charged with and is wanted for the following offences:


·      Robbery with a firearm

·      Forcible confinement

·      Pointing a firearm

·      Possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized

·      Possession of a firearm contrary to an order

·      Careless use of a firearm

·      Discharge firearm while being reckless

·      Disguised with intent to commit offence

·      Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.


David William CAMPBELL is described as aboriginal in appearance, approximately 6’1”, 190 pounds, and is believed to be in the areas of Opaskwayak Cree Nation, The Pas, or Moose Lake. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, and members of the public are encouraged to call MFNP or your local Police with any information on his whereabouts. Do not approach or engage with David William CAMPBELL if observed.
