Home Invasions Leads to Charges

On February 13, 2025, Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) received a complaint regarding two separate home invasion incidents that had just occurred.


In both incidents, it is alleged that a group of individuals committed violent home invasions on two separate residences, resulting in assaults causing bodily harm to three different men.


Christopher Wasteste (34) was arrested on scene and faces the following charges:

-        Assault Causing Bodily Harm x 3

-        Break and Enter with Intent x 2


Eric Chalmers (23) was arrested at a later time and faces the following charges:

-        Assault Causing Bodily Harm

-        Break and Enter with Intent


Wasteste was remanded into custody to appear in Brandon Provincial Court. 


Chalmers was taken before a Justice and released on conditions.


A warrant has been issued for another individual involved in the attacks; MFNPS is actively searching for them.


MFNPS is seeking assistance from the public to identify all the individuals involved in these incidents. Community safety is a top priority for MFNPS, and they are working closely with Chief and council to take swift and effective measures to address the situation.
