Supporting Youth

Manitoba First Nations Police Service

The Manitoba First Nations Police Service is an active community member who works hard to develop community relationships and partners for those we serve. The MFNPS is involved in multiple initiatives that are designed to help our officers and staff the opportunity to engage and develop relations with our youth.

Community based programs have been created in individual communities based on the community’s specific needs, but the focus in all of these programs is always on building trust with our youth and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Over the years, we have developed a variety of youth activities that focus on sports/recreation, culture, education, police studies, nutrition and healthy lifestyles.  We schedule clinics and programs in the community to help us engage youth in specific programming.

The programs are designed to encourage youth to discover new interests and talents as well as to have input into the choice of activities. In all our programming, our priority is on the development of youth, to build pride and self-confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
